Hello Fall, Hello Holidays!

Something happened this week. The temperature dropped, and suddenly I needed the kitchen heat on. My dough was taking forever to rise, so I said hello to the thermostat. One midnight dough vigil was enough. Then the house got cold too, and we took a long look at our three pallets of wood pellets—delivered only weeks ago—and decided we needed to bust them open. Yes folks, we turned the house pellet stove on, too. If it wasn’t already officially fall, turning the heat on feels like it heralded the change in more formally.

We have been enjoying a fantastic partnership with the good folk at Cervenka Farms. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I pop over with a truck full of bread after stocking our own farm stand. Cervenka’s last farm store day is October 31st this year. I’ll miss the early morning camaraderie, slipping people pretzels on Sundays, and hearing “Mom, the Bread Lady is here!” screamed across the parking lot.

Our farm stand in Frenchtown will remain open throughout the season changes, through the holidays, and into the new year. Our hours and days might change to accommodate the weather, and we will offer some pre-order days to help mitigate the effects of winter and busy holidays, but the oven will remain on, and we will continue providing our customers with bread.

We will also be offering two items to help with holiday gifting, and a little whimsy, too!

First, we will have holiday gift certificates available, redeemable for a Patullo House Bakery & Mercantile gift basket, consisting of both baked goods and mercantile items. Think Bakery Box, only bigger with more fun stuff in it.

Secondly, we will have Bakery Bucks available as a stocking stuffer. You can order these in any increments of $1, $5, $10, and $20, and they can be used like cash at our farm stand. You can choose how many of each denomination, keeping in mind they go into our cash box (like cash) and we do not have change available for these.

And if you want to come say hello in person, we will be at The Shoppes at the Farm Holiday Shopping Event in Whitehouse Station on December 6th. Always a fun time, in a beautiful facility.

Happy October, folks!
